    I am about to close a deal tomorrow and I understand I have to register the property which takes up to several weeks as I was told at the Recorders office in Los Angeles. How can I sell it in the meantime then?

    Once you have the signed deed in your name, you own it. Getting it recorded with the county is important but you can sell it while that is in process. You have a legal deed that you can show to any buyer and explain that the deed is being recorded at the county. The buyer may want proof.
