Filtering for absentee owners, owner occupied, etc. on DataTree

Hi all,

I seem to be getting inconsistent results from DataTree (and other data sources) in my searches for vacant land. I do 0% improvement, living area sq. ft = 0, absentee owner, and exclude owner occupied. I get wildly different results when I swap out some of these filters and sometimes I still end up with properties with improvements on them.

I’m curious if anyone has tips for how you make sure that the lists that you’re building are bringing up vacant land only.

Andy – Counties don’t all use these categories in the same way. Some do on record % improvement at all. You must experiment with each county to find out what works to give you the most vacant parcels. Usually, counties within the same state will handle their data in a similar manner. This gets easier after you have done it a few times.
